Official home page for goravani jyotish vedic astrology software v 2.5
This single page is meant to inform you of, and allure you towards, one of the most loved, proven and widely used Jyotish programs. Have at it.
Above is the Main Chart window in GJ 2.5. Here is where you mainly work from. You can see one or two charts, and the charts planet list and dashas. You can pick other charts, and perform other actions.
Above is the Birth Data Entry window in GJ 2.5. Here is where you enter new charts. You can easily tab through the fields, and the nice things are two: 1. You can enter dates and times in many ways, and 2. It has a complete built in world atlas with time changes. So you just enter the Name, Date, Time and City Name and Country, and when you tab, it fills in the Longitude, and everything you see below the country name, and what’s very important is the time changes database, which is fully included, which knows if it was Daylight Saving Time or not, on that date at that time for that city. That is not easy to get, only one company has it, and if a program doesn’t have it, it’s practically useless for US charts at the very least, since the DST system has been in heavy and heavily varied use across the US for decades, and Europe too had to be tracked carefully, so you have to the real thing, and GJ does.
It’s easy and like and express to enter charts. They slide right in, easily, no hassle. GJ is well known for it’s ease of use.
Above are some of the various ways of seeing charts in GJ. It has awesome graphics for your viewing pleasure.
Next, from the Main Chart Window, you can click Features or Print. The following two windows will appear. Note the richness of features and printout choices.
Above we have one feature window opened, and it shows a whole bunch of information, especially about the nakshatras of the planets, and many other things.
Above is the “Entries/Exits” feature which is absolutely necessary, as it gives you reliable lists which you can output any way usual, text, screen, print, etc., and it shows you when the planets enter and exit from the signs or nakshatras. You get to set it all up, as you like. And just click a button, and it lists it all really fast. So it’s the “Entries and Exits of the planets into and out of the signs and stars of Jyotish”. There are many other names for such a list, but it’s essential, and of course it’s here, nicely done, easy to check off and use.
Above shows how the main window can mutate to show you two charts and graphs regarding this chart. Here we see a summary graph I like (I made it) which sums up the ownerships, exaltations and debilitations of the planets across the vargas. Here we see my Jupiter rocks while my sun fares the worst.
Above is the built in online help. It knows where you are, and pulls up the part of the manual for that window. The whole huge manual is built in, and in a separate PDF. Real complete documentation on GJ 2.5!
Above is the Main Preferences Window. You can see the choices this gives to You. Since you might wonder, the Western House refers to the Western Chart GJ produces onscreen and as printout for you. So you can choose the House System. Then note the presence of Lunar Parallax Correction as well as the basics of North and South, Outer Planets, and the Glyphs in the middle, your Viewing Style Choice is there.
Above is ONE of the MANY ways you can view READINGS or INTERPRETATIONS of planetary placements. In this formation, we are seeing the readings based on which dasha lords are running at the point in the dasha list that YOU click upon. So you choose a time in life, and it will show you readings for those planets only in the list below from the readings for this chart only, so actually, this is the way to really plan for a dasha.
The other important preference window.
Above: The Panchang Window
This important window allows you to easily look at “now” or any one date Panchang info. But you can also output listings a couple ways, including one in calendar grid form. This is the onscreen Panchang window, where you click on the days in the Calendar. It shows below.
This Panchang can produce accurately to the time for any city anywhere for any date range within our life span so you can time things with tithi and other panchangam information accurately for your location. !
Above is the reference window, which includes as shown the famous book “The Astrology of the Seers” by David Frawley. There are other tables and various Jyotish reference materials found here.
Above is yet another way to view the readings for a chart. This one is the “Who also has this reading” feature. It shows you WHO ELSE has the same readings as you. The famous people at right for example. You can add more people into this system simply by saving their charts then approving them to appear (there is a setup window for that).
This above is the Northern Transits Window. It shows you the transits overlaying a chart and of course you can spin them and jump to any date and get READINGS for the transits (Gochara Phal or Transit Fruits)
Above is the Western Chart Feature which gives you the Standard Tropical Chart as per Western Astrology whereas most of the program is otherwise Vedic Astrology, based on the Sidereal Zodiac
Above is the “Output Cycle Feature” which generates cyclical data for you for the points you choose in space, the planets or lagna, the timing of the cycle, the date range. Basically, you can generate any Jyotish related list of data points you can imagine most likely. The list of possibilities for points is limited and built in by the programmer, but it is the entire list of tags the program generates, so it’s in the thousands of possibilities. You can generate lists of course like when the planets change Navamsas, or any Varga. You can generate lists of when the Ascendent crosses into Vargas. Anything, and any time cycle and range. Output tab text or print or view onscreen or Graph as shown below:
